First Lady Mary Pat Christie and New Jersey Heroes Announce Heart of a Hero Scholarship Program for NJ Veterans - 6/22/12
Today First Lady Mary Pat Christie announced the start of the New Jersey Heroes Heart of a Hero Scholarship Program for NJ veterans. Wal-Mart donated $100,000 to fund ten $10,000 scholarships that will help New Jersey military service members pursue a post-secondary education, be it college or vocational school. The scholarship will be used for the 2012-2013 school year. In the spirit of New Jersey Heroes, the selection committee will be looking for applicants that demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and community contribution, like our monthly Heroes. Applicants may apply directly through our website by clicking on the “Heart of a Hero Scholarship” button or by printing out and mailing in the PDF on the application page. All applications must be submitted by Friday, July 20th. Recipients will be announced in August. Thank you to Wal-Mart for making this scholarship program a reality.
