Mary Pat’s Story

Mary Pat Christie, First Lady of New Jersey, has successfully combined her roles as wife and mother with a business career and community service.  Born in Paoli, Pennsylvania, Mary Pat is the 9th of 10 children.  She is a graduate of the University of Delaware and received her Master’s in Business Administraion and Finance at Seton Hall University. Mary Pat continues her career as Managing Director at Angelo, Gordon & Co.

Mary Pat is active in her children’s lives and helps lend a hand to various school and team functions.  She is involved in her church, St. Joseph’s in Mendham, and contributes to the family liturgy, confirmation class activities, and soup kitchen outreach.  As the first lady, Mary Pat has had the opportunity to visit various organizations throughout the state who are working to make New Jersey a better place for everyone.   She is focused on recognizing people and groups that inspire pride in others and help them to become more self-sufficient members of society.

Mary Pat plans to help her husband make people feel proud about New Jersey. She and her husband, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, met in college and they have been married for 25 years. The Christie’s have 4 children, Andrew, Sarah, Patrick, and Bridget.
