First Lady Mary Pat Christie Announces the Heart of a Hero Scholarship for Veterans - 6/25/13
Today, Mrs. Christie announced the return of the Heart of a Hero Scholarship for all NJ military service members. With help from Wal-Mart, NJ Heroes will be able to award ten worthy veterans or active-duty men and women a $5,000 scholarship to use towards their post secondary education. Mrs. Christie made this announcement at the Hackettstown Armory surrounded by members of the NJ National Guard. Jen Hoehn, from Wal-Mart, spoke about the partnership with NJ Heroes on this project and also gave details on Wal-Mart’s programs to hire veterans across America.
The deadline for the scholarship is on Friday, July 26th at 5pm. Applicants can apply online at our website by clicking on the “Scholarship Application” button at the top of the home page. Applications are also accepted via email and US Mail.
