See Purple R.E.I.G.N. at the “In The Shadows No More” Community Summit - 10/25/14
Asia D. Smith of Purple R.E.I.G.N. will be a featured guest speaker at the “In The Shadows No More: Understanding Intimate Partner Violence in African American Communities” community summit. The event is designed to review the findings of the NJ Domestic Violence Fatality and Near Fatality Review Board’s 2013 Report and develop culturally specific solutions to reduce intimate partner homicides.
Other featured guests include the Honorable Ras J. Baraka, Mayor of Newark, Rose Williams of the NJ Coalition for Battered Women, Pamela McCauley of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, and more. The event is taking place at the Paul Robeson Center at Rutgers University on Thursday, October 30th, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a Domestic Violence Awareness Vigil immediately following the summit. Tickets are $25.
