First Lady Mary Pat Christie Announces Ten Recipients of the 2014 Heart of a Hero Scholarship - 9/9/14
It was a beautiful day to be at Drumthwacket to announce our recipients of the third annual New Jersey Heroes ‘Heart of a Hero Scholarship’ for military service members and veterans. Thanks to the generous support of our donor-partners, we had the privilege to award ten very deserving military heroes with $5,000 scholarships to use towards their post-secondary or masters education. These individuals were chosen from a highly competitive group of applicants. In addition to selflessly serving their country, these ten individuals have each gone above and beyond, demonstrating a commitment to volunteerism and to the betterment of their communities. They, like our New Jersey Heroes, are working to make our state a better place. These service men and women are truly an example of the great people that make-up New Jersey. Meeting with them and hearing their stories was an inspiration, and I am honored to recognize their service and support their bright futures through this scholarship program.
