Danielle Gletow – One Simple Wish - 9/9/16

Posted on September 09, 2016

I am proud to name Danielle Gletow as my 43rd New Jersey Hero! Danielle is the founder of One Simple Wish, a wish granting non-profit for children who have been in and out of foster care.

Danielle was inspired to start One Simple Wish while acting as a foster parent in Mercer Country with her husband. She knew how important it was to create a sense of normalcy for children in foster care and decided to utilize her marketing background to develop One Simple Wish’s website where donors could go and grant wishes for children.

Since 2008, Danielle has successfully helped grant over 12,500 wishes. Over a quarter of those wishes have been made in New Jersey where she founded her admirable organization. One Simple Wish allows people to give everyday necessities and more to children in foster care. Social service providers post the modest wishes of foster children online, and individuals find a specific wish that speaks to their heart and budget. She has built a successful channel of purposeful support between those who want to give and those who need help.

One Simple Wish makes giving easy and meaningful for the donor, but more importantly, shows youth and vulnerable families that someone cares about them enough to grant their wish. I commend Danielle’s goal to continue to increase public awareness of life for children in foster care and of families in need. I am honored to name her as my 43rd New Jersey Hero.
