Jane Latini – Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County - 10/6/16
Jane Latini’s dedication to the homebound elderly and disabled has left a lasting mark on the community in the great state of New Jersey. That is why I am thrilled to announce Jane Latini, Executive Director of Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County, as my 44th New Jersey Hero.
Jane has served homebound men and women in the Greater Mercer County area for over 20 years. Her passion for helping others and her enthusiastic commitment to Interfaith Caregivers has been devoted to ensuring that the homebound and disabled elderly in the community have supportive and caring volunteers who assist them with everyday tasks.
Many of us take simple tasks for granted, being able to complete them by ourselves every day, but they do not come as easy to others. By matching the elderly and disabled with caregivers who provide many services, such as transportation to doctors’ offices, grocery shopping, light housekeeping, occasional meal preparation, indoor and outdoor chores, and other non-medical help, including simple companionship, those who need assistance are able to remain in their homes with part time assistance.
The Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County have helped assist hundreds of people through volunteer service by promoting the independence and dignity of the homebound elderly and disabled. I am proud to name Jane my 44th New Jersey Hero, the 5th of 2016! Her leadership as Executive Director of Interfaith Caregivers of New Jersey is an example of how strong and faithful our community support is in this great state.
